With over 25 years of industry experience, May Green Marketing provides businesses with a comprehensive range of marketing services, including website design and development, SEO, social media, branding and design, paid advertising, training and ongoing marketing support.

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting out and speaking to businesses, opening doors, building relationships and turning opportunities into new clients. You'll be responsible for developing new business across North Yorkshire and the wider area, supported by an experienced marketing team who can provide specialist input when required.

This is a flexible, home-based and field-based opportunity, combining remote business development with face-to-face meetings, networking and relationship building.

This is a self-employed, commission-only opportunity with uncapped earning potential. There is no basic salary.

The Role

Your focus will be on identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities for May Green Marketing.

You'll have the freedom to manage your own time and sales activity, working remotely and travelling throughout the region to meet prospective clients and represent May Green Marketing.

The role will involve a combination of telephone and email prospecting, LinkedIn, networking, face-to-face meetings and following up both your own opportunities and targeted prospect data provided by May Green Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach suitable businesses throughout North Yorkshire, Yorkshire and the wider area
  • Generate your own pipeline through prospecting, referrals, networking, LinkedIn and your existing business contacts
  • Follow up targeted leads and prospect data supplied by May Green Marketing
  • Contact business owners, directors and key decision-makers to introduce May Green Marketing
  • Understand each prospective client's business, current marketing activity and commercial objectives
  • Identify where May Green Marketing's services could provide value
  • Arrange and attend face-to-face and online meetings with prospective clients
  • Represent May Green Marketing professionally at client meetings, networking events and other business opportunities
  • Present May Green Marketing's services, packages and recommendations to prospective clients
  • Attend meetings to present and discuss proposals with prospective clients
  • Respond to questions and objections and help progress opportunities towards a decision
  • Follow opportunities through from initial contact and discovery meeting to proposal and sale
  • Work with May Green Marketing's management and specialist team when technical or strategic input is required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, conversations, opportunities and follow-ups within our CRM
  • Provide useful feedback and market insights from prospective clients and the wider North Yorkshire business community to the May Green Marketing team
  • Develop a strong understanding of May Green Marketing's services, case studies and ideal client profiles

What You'll Be Selling

May Green Marketing provides a broad range of marketing services to SMEs, including:

  • Website design and development
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • Social media management
  • Branding and graphic design
  • Paid advertising / PPC
  • Marketing training
  • Campaign and landing page development
  • Ongoing outsourced marketing support
  • Defined marketing packages for SMEs

You won't be expected to become a technical expert in every area.

We'll provide training and information on our services, approach, case studies and the types of businesses we're best placed to help. Where more specialist knowledge is required during the sales process, you'll have the support of our experienced marketing team.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of their own business development activity and has the confidence to represent May Green Marketing in front of business owners and senior decision-makers.

You'll ideally:

  • Be confident generating new business rather than relying solely on inbound leads
  • Be self-motivated and comfortable working independently from home
  • Be comfortable approaching business owners, directors and senior decision-makers
  • Be confident prospecting by telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking and face-to-face
  • Enjoy getting out, meeting businesses and developing relationships within your territory
  • Be comfortable attending client meetings

  • Be commercially aware and comfortable discussing requirements, budgets and proposals
  • Be confident following an opportunity from initial conversation through to sale
  • Be organised and persistent with follow-ups
  • Be professional, personable and able to represent May Green Marketing to a high standard

Previous B2B sales or business development experience is essential.

Experience selling marketing, digital services, websites, advertising, media, software, professional services or other B2B solutions would be a significant advantage, but previous marketing industry experience is not essential.

Full training and information will be provided on May Green Marketing's services and sales propositions.
